Mr. Joseph J. Bono Frankfort- Mr. Joseph J. Bono, 89, of 190 Litchfield Rd passed away Saturday, August 19, 2006 in Folts Home. He was born in Rome on November 16, 1916, the son of the late Natale and Filippa Mascarella Bono and he attended Frankfort schools. He served with the US Navy during World War II in the European Theater and the Pacific Theater as a Motor Machinist Mate aboard the USS Burrows and was Honorably Discharged on January 26,1946. He was married to Elizabeth Hadsell on March 31, 1951 in St. Mary´s Church, Frankfort. He and his brother Jack were the owners and operators of Bono Brothers Diary for many years until their retirement in 1966. Mr. Bono was also employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator and later Foreman for Town Of Frankfort for many years until his retirement in 1979. He was a Lifetime member of the V.F.W Post #502, Frankfort - Ilion & Ilion American Legion. Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Bono, one son & daughter in law, Joseph N. & Barbara Bono of Frankfort; one daughter & son in law, Sharon & Robert Greisberger of Rochester; his grandchildren, Christopher Bono and Jacquelyn & her husband, Nat Beck; two sisters, Josephine Mc Graw & her companion, Roy Peer of Frankfort and Joyce Hardee of Cocoa, FL; his sister in law, Bella Bono of Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Jack Bono, one sister, Jennie Gregory and his in laws, Robert Hadsell, Charles Hadsell, Mildred Edick and Shirley Mower. His funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with Chaplain James Cogar, Chaplain of the V.F.W Post #502, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full Military Honors. Calling Hours will be Monday 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the V.F.W Post #502, Frankfort - Ilion will meet Monday evening at 7:00 at the funeral home for services. Contributions in Joseph's memory may be made to V.F.W Post #502, Frankfort - Ilion. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
